Sid Johnson & Co. is a licensed (ORCCB# 096) and bonded contractor founded in Baker City, Oregon in 1956 by Sidney R. Johnson. The General Contracting firm was incorporated in 1975 as Sid Johnson & Co. dba Johnson Homes – a family held corporation. Family members, Mark A. Johnson and Jeff Givens have managed the company since 1987 when the founder, Sid Johnson, retired.
Johnson Homes started in the construction industry as a builder of fine custom homes in eastern Oregon. In response to industry changes in the early 1980s, we changed our formal business name to Sid Johnson & Co. to reflect our focus and expansion of services to include commercial, industrial and institutional projects. Today, under second-generation management, we look to the future for continued growth and maturity as a leader in the building construction industry in eastern Oregon.
Sid Johnson & Co. is experienced and skilled at all levels of project development, management and construction. We employ a full time staff of project managers, supervisors, CAD draftsmen and skilled workers to make sure the finished job meets the highest professional and/or personal standards. The day-to-day operation of our company remains under the control of the family owners, assuring close cooperation with clients, architects and engineers. The owners are personally involved in the project management for each project undertaken by Sid Johnson & Co. While remaining strong on project development and management, we maintain our posture as a nuts & bolts construction firm. We are builders by trade and we perform a large portion of the actual construction work in-house. Our crews take a personal interest and pride in each project. Our business maxim is that once a project is begun, we will concentrate our energy and intensity, without distraction, on the successful completion of each project.
